Jeff Pu from Haitong International, who usually has a good handle on Apple stuff, is back with a fresh research note today, and it's all about the iPhone 17 series that's expected to drop next year, probably in September.

The newest member of the family, the iPhone 17 Slim (or iPhone 17 Air, if Apple wishes to adopt the same naming convention as its tablets), will be the first item we discuss. The A19 CPU (not the A19 Pro like the Pro versions) and 8GB of RAM have been "confirmed" (as much as anything can be informally) to be used in this model. Naturally, this means that Apple Intelligence support is built in.

The phone will include a 24 MP selfie camera in addition to a single 48 MP back camera. It will sport a 6.6-inch screen, an aluminum frame, and Face ID. According to Pu, this device will replace the iPhone Plus and have a completely new design.

Additionally, he discussed the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The A19 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, a 48 MP telephoto camera, a 24 MP selfie camera, and the same screen sizes as their predecessors will be included in both of them. The Pro Max will also have a lot smaller Dynamic Island because it will be employing a new Face ID method.
